LACORO 2025 Call for contribution

Extended Abstract Submission for the Poster Session

We invite all LACORO 2025 participants to submit a 2-page extended abstract describing their current or recently published research.

  • Mandatory for Master's and PhD students.
  • Optional for all other participants.

There will be no official proceedings.

Eligibility

  • Your research must be either ongoing or published within the last year (from the date of LACORO).

Length and Format

Structure (follows a typical research paper format):

  1. Title, Authors, Affiliations
  2. Introduction: What problem are you solving? Why is this novel/important? Include a brief related work section and a summary of findings.
  3. Methodology: Clearly explain how your research was conducted.
  4. Results: Present your main results and how they support your goals.
  5. Conclusions: Summarize and contextualize your main findings.

Poster and Cinematic Video (Optional/By Invitation)
Approved abstracts will be invited to submit a poster and a short cinematic video to present their work during the event. You may also submit a poster alongside your abstract if you wish to be considered early for presentation.

Poster & Cinematic Video Submissions – LACORO 2025

We invite all LACORO 2025 participants to submit a research poster and a cinematic trailer, summarizing and showcasing their work in a visual and engaging format.

Poster and video submissions are mandatory for Master's and PhD students, and for students with accepted abstracts.

Poster Specifications:

  • Size: A0 (84.1 cm x 118.9 cm)
  • Submission Format: PDF preferred
  • Posters may be uploaded via the registration form alongside your abstract. Otherwise, the organizing committee will contact you if your abstract is selected.

Poster Content & Design Recommendations

  • Graphically summarize your research: focus on visuals, limit text
  • Avoid tables; use charts and graphs instead
  • Use high-resolution images
  • Maintain a logical flow across sections
  • Suggested layout (two columns):
    • Title, authors, and affiliations
    • Left column: Abstract (≤400 words), Introduction, Methodology
    • Right column: Results, Conclusions
  • Use legible fonts (readable from 2 meters)
  • Stick to 2–3 consistent font styles/sizes/colors
  • Keep margins and spacing uniform
  • Template: Template

Cinematic Video Requirements
A cinematic video is not a screen recording or slide narration. It's a story-driven, high-quality short film about your research.

  • Maximum duration: 2 minutes
  • Must include: Title of your research; Authors and affiliations; All key research elements: Introduction & problem definition; Related work; Methodology; Results; Impact/significance

Distribution: Videos will be shared on the official LACORO YouTube channel

Recommended Locations for Poster Printing

If you're looking for a place to print your poster in Rancagua, we recommend checking out Reproplano, located at Paseo Estado 578, or Cirples, situated at Calle Cuevas 620. Both are conveniently close to the university!
